I am Shruti - a determined product designer with 3+ years of experience designing B2B, B2C, and AI products across diverse domains including finance, healthcare, civic-tech, and ed-tech. Currently, I'm a Product Designer at Bank.Green, where I'm focused on crafting AI-powered experiences.
How did I get into UX?
My journey into design began in architecture, where I built a strong foundation in spatial design and built form. This path evolved through a Master’s in Systems Engineering and Design at the University of Michigan, where I honed my systems-thinking approach to problem-solving.
During my first semester at U-M, I discovered my passion for user experience through a course in Requirements Engineering, where I learnt to derive product specifications from stakeholders and apply a systematic approach to define and verify them.
While working on a class project, I realized that stakeholders needs are often ambiguous, which deepened my appreciation for empathy and critical thinking in clarifying those specifications. This drew me towards user research and creating intuitive experiences that transform complex requirements into scalable systems.
Besides being a designer, I like to spend my time nurturing house plants, exploring trails with friends, practicing yoga, and improving my watercolor painting skills.
I like keeping up with astronomical events throughout the year and escaping to the mountains to watch the night sky in action. I recently experienced seeing northern lights for the first time!
